Coming Up: Recap of Kaseya Connect 2009

I have had a few requests to provide a recap of Kaseya Connect this past week and I am already planning do to so.

Between the blog and KaseyaConnect.com there is a recap coming. If you go to KaseyaConnect.com right now you will even see a “Watch Recap” button on the page.

If you are looking for something to read about, Joe Panettieri was posting content throughout the conference and has some interesting insight to some of the announcements made.  You can read his stuff at MSPMentor.net

I like some of the upcoming features for version 6, but overall I was disappointed in the conference. It seemed disorganized and they had a tough time staying on topic and on schedule. For example, the tips and tricks session ended up being a shortened question and answer session with very little content. One of the BUDR sessions was packed with MSPs that are struggling with having a successful online backup practice and the topic was dismissed with no real resolution. I feel like I walked away from the conference with very little additional information to enable our company to be more successful in our practice.

All in all, I would say the Kaseya Connect 2009 was a great success! I know that some of the sessions got pushed back and were a little off time, but other than that, I was impressed with the attentive nature they gave to answering questions and organizing a herd of cats (which we all know IT people are self starter lone wolf types to boot). What was amazing, was that almost all sessions were open for free discussion which would turn into a pretty festive question and answer time. I was really pleased with the top notch accommodations at the Four Seasons and the lavish food and drinks. Great Job Kaseya, and I am looking forward to next year, I hope the sessions will be filmed because that could really help to go back and review the sessions you missed.
