Executive Perspective: Jim Alves, EVP OEM and Strategic Initiatives

Creating a healthy Kaseya ecosystem has been part of our long-term strategy from the beginning. The Kaseya Third Party Program was created to provide a formalized process for companies to integrate their applications and solutions into the Kaseya IT Automation Framework.

The primary goal of the program is to expand Kaseya’s functionality and capability available to the user and thereby improve overall IT service delivery by allowing the utilization of third party applications without ever having to leave the Kaseya interface.

Since 2010, Kaseya has seen a number of organizations investing in the Kaseya platform with integrated backup management options and security enhancements expanding significantly. Symantec has developed a module for their Backup Exec product; Heroware has a module for management of their ‘Defender’ Backup/Virtual Failover appliance; while Dell has created a module for management of their AppAssure backup offering.

“The integration of our products within the Kaseya eco-system, most importantly makes life easier for our MSP customers,” says Rob Ryan, President at HEROware. “We chose to develop our integration tools within the Kaseya framework not just because they are the undisputed leaders in IT Automation for the MSP market, but because our customers told us early on that if we delivered our new single pane of glass, HERO-RMM tool, powered by Kaseya, that we’d be making their jobs simpler and more profitable. We were told that HEROware and Kaseya together would help our MSP’s sell more HEROware Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity solutions, so becoming a valued member of Kaseya’s Third Party Program, and having critical access to Development resources, Executive’s ears and Global marketing resources, was a no-brainer for HEROware, because it helps us to help our customers succeed and in the end, that’s why we’re in business!”

Further enhancements in the security arena include Symantec’s module for their Endpoint Protection product and Scorpion Software’s integrated suite of applications that includes robust two-factor authentication, single sign-on and password vault.

Numerous other integration projects are currently underway. The next round of which will see the inclusion of Print Management solutions into the Kaseya platform.

As this ecosystem evolves, it will enhance the user experience and ensure our customers are equipped with the tools they need to solve problems in the IT Systems Management discipline. We encourage innovation, new ideas and ways to improve the overall customer solution.

Together, we can offer a better experience for everyone.
